At my Christian fellowship today, I met this Austrian girl there named Annette. The whole time there, Annette shared her story about her missionary family and the choices she has made in her life.
When Annette was 4 or 5, she said she made the decision to come to Christ and became a Christian. At the age of 8, she confirmed that decision to follow God. Throughout this time, she talked of her childhood and how she was raised in Vienna, Austria.
At 16, she made the decision to give all of her self to God. She mentioned how she got baptized at a Evangelical church over there. When she got baptized, she had to share her whole testimony story with how she got saved to the whole church. She shared this story in German.
Throughout her life, she mentioned how she stayed at many different families that would allow their family to stay there. She also graduated at an Austrian high school.
When she was in her country, someone from Indianapolis, Indiana was there and asked her what she wanted to major in. She mentioned how she liked Language, Science, and Art. With that, she chose Science and attended Iowa U and a Wesleyan College to study Biology. Taking all these classes, she didn't know why she was taking those classes. She asked God why she is spending all this time on these classes.
With that, she read in the gospels about people getting their sight restored. She also read in 1 Corinthians 12:12-20 and found that God wanted her to pursue Optometry. Years later, she got a Ph.D. in Optometry, making her an eye doctor. She is currently 29.
Annette mentions how she writes down notes of different Bible verses every time an event happens in her life. Her sister lives in the mountains in southern India, working as a missionary.
She mentioned to us that if we seek God with all our heart, He will be there for us. He may not show us the whole plan, but He reveals certain things to us. She also read Jeremiah 29:11-14.
The one other thing that I found out that is worth telling is that she teaches other women in Sunday school at her church.
There is so much more about her that I learned, but I'll just stop at this. I really admired her strong passion for God and I found that meeting enlightening......
