Getting a temporary job.....|
Have you tried talking to CMU's Career Services. The college should want to help you find a job as it boosts their numbers and ranking.
Also, did you look for jobs at the company where you interned? If they liked you as much as you said they did they should be able to fit you in somewhere. Sometimes you have to push a little bit.
Have you looked out of state? Don't be afraid to move. If you're not going back to school in Michigan than you have no reason to be tied down here! Go where the jobs are.
DO NOT settle for Mejier, Wal-Mart and Best Buy! You are better than that and have proved it by getting your Degree!

I forgot to mention: Don't forget about Temp Agencies. Try Kelly Services and Express Personnel, they both have offices in Midland and are very good and finding you work. It's a great way to find temp work that will be on par with your skills. Shannon work with Express Personnel and then ended up getting hired full-time. There's other choices before retail!
I haven't considered working at a Temp Agency. I might decide to give that a try.
I have tried Career Services at CMU. That's where I interviewed for Consolidated Graphics.
I haven't checked Parsons & Maxson lately. I do know that they hired someone new around the time I had my internship so I don't know if there are any openings right now.
I have tried several places out of state. A lot of them are the big Fortune 500 companies. I haven't had luck with them (probably since they looking for experienced people already in the industry.).
I am not looking to make a living at Meijer, Wal-Mart or Best Buy. I just need to make some money until I can land a permanent job.
Thanks for the suggestions though. :)
You're welcome. Just thought I'd throw out some suggestions! GOOD LUCK!
